A girl on the edge

I think we are deep in the terrible two's even though it has technically only been a little over a month...

My mom and Allison came in for a suprise visit this weekend and we had a super fun time with them (more pictures and a full recap later). It was much over due. But as they witnessed while they were here we are constantly living on edge of a meltdown. To be honest Matt and I have gotten used to them but I notice it more when our routine changes even slightly. It seems to be all about compromises & negotiations with her lately.

This was one of our compromises over the weekend. We had been at the park with her for a long time and she touched every piece of playground equipment there but still didn't want to go home. We tried getting her excited about getting a ride home in the wagon but she still refused to get back in. Then she said she wanted to pull the wagon. So she pulled it and pulled it and pulled it. All the way home. We kept trying to take over for her but she refused to let us help her! We did secretly help push from the back so she didn't have to pull the full weight of the wagon herself... but don't tell her! She thought she was such a big girl pulling all the way home.
