I read online that around two years old, toddlers start to have an explosion of new words, sometimes 10 a day. This is so true with Molly. Every day she comes home from school and has something new to say and sometimes even little sentences. She talks constantly, very rarely is there a quiet moment. Her pronunciation is so cute that Matt and I ask her to repeat herself half the time, like when she says ‘Motorcycle’. It is adorable. And most everything has a question mark behind it. Bug? Jeep? Pup-pup?
We have flashcards for the alphabet and colors that she is getting good at. Although she always tries to say everything is ‘ba-luue’ first but then she eventually gets it right.
She has learned little sentences like “I throw it!” while throwing her ball or other toys across the room.
The funniest one lately is when she needs help with something, instead of asking “help me?” she says “help you?”
And the slightly amusing way she says Mommy. It always is very sharp, like Mom-MEE!!! And a million times in a row, like a broken record. If any of you are Family Guy fans… it sounds just like Stewie trying to get Lois’ attention.
For the record she doesn’t say Daddy like that at all. She is always very sweet when she calls for her daddy. Although it is usually with a question mark. Daddy? Daddy? Because she doesn’t want to be too far from where he is. Still a daddy’s girl.
She has watched so much Yo Gabba Gabba in the last few months that she can pick up on what they are going to say next. She loves it when DJ Lance Rock says, “Listening and Dancing to music is… Awesome!” She screams “Awesome!” at the right moment and pumps her fist. At least she is getting something out of it, right? Haha.
Her birthday celebration continues this week with a party at school today with her BFF’s and last night a surprise present waiting on the patio for her when we got home from our sweet next door neighbors Tom & Angela. Her own personal pink chair & an instant new lovie whom she promptly named: My Bear!
