The first trip back was under sad circumstances, Matt's grandma Kowalski passed away unexpectedly so we headed home to say our farewells. We did get to catch up with a lot of family that we haven't seen in awhile and some even that had never had met Molly yet which was nice.
After that quick trip we headed back again last week but this time we stuck to the West and North side of the state. Our trip included a stop in Grand Rapids visiting Laura, Brad and their twin boys Davis and Levi. It was our first time seeing the boys in person and boy are they adorable! Molly was smitten and I think the feeling was mutual. Next was Grand Haven where we picked up Grammy Jane at the Bassett's. Then Traverse City for a few days with and then final stop Mackinac Island!
Molly was a real trooper throughout. She did really good in the car for the most part and had a ton of fun at each of our stops.
She got to climb Sleeping Bear Dunes, feel the crisp clear water of Lake Michigan, see some beautiful sunsets, eat some Mackinaw fudge and ride a ferry to/from the island.
We had such a good time and it made us miss Michigan even more. Even though I can't stand Tim Allen, I felt like I was in the Pure Michigan commercials. We had such great weather and had great times with our friends and family.
Due to the shear volume of pictures we took, I will have to break them out into several posts so More to Come...
