starting the summer off right

Molly started the first official weekend of summer off right. We spent Friday evening with Maureen and Meredith eating dinner at Tin Fish on Lake Calhoun. The wait is ridiculously long but the food was worth it. Molly had plenty to run around and look at to pass the time. She even got some puppy time in back at the girls condo. Scooter and Duncan were just as happy to see her as she was them.

Saturday Molly and I spent part of the morning playing beauty parlor. We painted her toes (mint green!) and put her hair in piggy tails. Now if I could just get her to keep them in! Her hair is so wild now that it is getting longer and so wavy/curly! The humidity really did a number on it Saturday. She looked like a little 50's crooner with that curl in front. Adorable. We also hung out at Barnes & Noble for awhile, where we read some books, played with some stuffed animals and chased older boys out of the children's reading area. Silly girl.

Saturday night we rode our bikes down to meet some friends (including Molly's BFF Macy) for a concert in the park at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. The girls had a blast dancing around, being silly with each other, eating a ton of snacks and staying up past their bedtime. They both are daddy's girls. They gave Matt and Jason quite the workout throwing them each up in the air and then fist bumping each other. So cute.

This morning we headed out early again for another bike ride and got a fair amount of outdoor playtime in before her nap. Then to round out the weekend she got to spend the rest of afternoon with Maureen and Meredith again. She showed them her skills going through her color flashcards, singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and playing with her coveted JA matching game. All in all it was a pretty great weekend!

She came to me and said "I did it!" She got her shoe on (even if it was on the wrong foot...) haha.

This was the only still shot I could get of the girls. They were so busy the whole time!
